Name: Ook Ook
Breed: Monferno
Gender: Male
Personality: Of Lupin's team, Ook Ook has the personality that mirrors
his trainer's the closest. When on a job, the Monferno is all about
getting things done quickly and smoothly. The rest of the time
however, he's a smart aleck, frequently getting into trouble from
pulling tricks and just being generally rascally. This especially
means picking on the other Pokemon in his team, and more often than
not on whatever Pokemon he finds himself against in battle. He also
shares his trainer's ego, sometimes biting off more than he can chew
and having to pay for it later. No matter how many times this happens
though, he doesn't seem to become any more humble.

Ook Ook is also fiercely loyal to Lupin, willing to help him even if
he puts himself in danger by doing so. They seem to have an implicit
understanding of what the other is thinking, and use this to their
advantage when pulling a heist that requires as little noise as
possible.

History: One of the things that Lupin inherited in his grandfather's
will were a pair of Infernape the old man had raised up from
hatchlings. They assisted young Lupin in his work for many years, and
in that time did have a few offspring who eventually went on to find
their own destinies with other trainers. Before the pair passed away
from old age, they asked their youngest child to stay with Lupin and
continue to help him as they had.

For a long time, Ook Ook was Lupin's only Pokemon, and because of this
the two formed a close bond. A few months before Lupin would meet the
brunette he had a nearly fatal slip off a roof top, and in the process
of rushing to save him, Ook Ook evolved from a Chimchar into a
Monferno.

Name: Monster
Breed: Zangoose
Gender: Male
Personality: The most serious member of the team, Monster is one surly
scrapper of a Pokemon. He is quite obsessed with becoming stronger,
and looks for any opportunity to show off his fighting prowess.
There's nothing he loathes more than just having to lounge around, and
if he has to go too long without a fight he tends to become especially
agitated.

History: Monster was born into a pack of wild Zangoose who were in the
midst of an especially brutal turf war with a pack of Seviper. From
birth Monster was raised to be a warrior, every waking minute was
spent training for the ultimate goal of victory for his pack. When the
day finally came that Monster was old enough to join the fighting
however, disaster befell both the Zangoose and the Seviper packs. A
torrential rainstorm came to the area, and soon the grounds where the
two groups had their battles was entirely flooded. The desire to win
was so strong in some of the young Zangoose however that they still
insisted on staying to try and fight, and many were washed away by the
surging waters. Monster was among them, and although he fought as hard
as he could to keep from being swept off, he ended up colliding right
into a large rock and falling unconscious.

When he awoke, his memory was a blank. All that he knew is that he was
filled with anger, and an overpowering desire to battle. He'd been
brought to a Pokemon Center by a kindhearted passerby who'd found him
washed up on a riverbank, and the Nurse Joy there doted on him
heavily. Even though in a short time his injuries healed and he became
a picture of health, his memory never returned.

Lupin had simply popped into the Pokemon Center to rest when he
spotted the Zangoose sparring with a potted plant. He watched with a
mixture of curiosity and amusement, eventually turning to the Nurse
Joy to ask her what its story was. While she was explaining, the
Zangoose spotted Ook Ook and immediately challenged him to a fight.
Neither Lupin nor Ook Ook were the sort to turn down a direct
challenge, and so they stepped outside of the Pokemon Center to have a
battle. It was a long and fierce competition, but in the end the
Monferno won, and the Zangoose reluctantly admitted defeat.

After the battle, the Nurse Joy asked Lupin to please take the
Zangoose with him. She thought he would make a good Pokemon for
battle, but she wasn't sure a younger trainer would be able to
properly handle such a headstrong Pokemon. Unable to say no to such a
pretty face, Lupin agreed and found himself the owner of a Pokemon the
local children had given the (rather uncreative) name of 'Monster' due
to his somewhat savage personality.

Name: Trap
Breed: Mawile
Gender: Female
Personality: Trap is, quite frankly, a diva. She acts as if she
believes she's the cutest Pokemon that has ever existed, and strives
to be the center of attention wherever she goes. The flip-side of this
is her horrible temper, which she launches into full force whenever
she doesn't get what she wants. She also possesses a strong greedy
streak. It doesn't matter if it's people's attention, toys, a favorite
food, or anything else -- she wants it all to herself and isn't keen
on sharing.

For the most part attempting to use her in battle is an excercise in
futility, as she rarely follows commands and instead opts to do what
she feels most like doing at the time. Sometimes this means choosing
her own attacks, and sometimes means skipping off to go pick flowers
and ignoring that there's a battle altogether. Even getting her to eat
can be a struggle, as she's quite picky and gained an affinity for
rather expensive food due to being spoiled by her previous owner.

Deep down though, Trap is actually quite afraid of being abandoned.
She makes a big show of everything in order to convince others of her
worth, thinking it will make them want to keep her around. A part of
her wants to be a more helpful member of Lupin's team, but old habits
die hard and it will take quite a bit of training (and reassurance she
won't be left behind again) to make her a more agreeable Pokemon.

History: Trap was born as the result of a breeder's attempt to breed a
Mawile with a calm temprament. When it was clear this attempt had
failed spectacularly, Trap was traded away to a young trainer for a
nicer Pokemon. In the end, the youngster couldn't much stand her
personality either and she was traded away again to the very woman who
would eventually leave Lupin broke in Sinnoh. Unfortunately, she
wasn't very skilled at raising Pokemon, tending to spoil the Mawile
and give in to her whims. Amazingly enough she even rewarded Trap's
tantrums, claiming that she found them 'cute'. When the time came for
her to bail out on Lupin however, she decided she had grown bored with
the Pokemon and left Trap behind as well. At first, Lupin was
determined to get the bratty Mawile off his hands as soon as possible.
Then, the more he thought about it, he realized the two of them were
in the same boat. They'd been left behind by the same woman that
they'd both trusted. After this change of heart he decided instead to
keep Trap and attempt to train her himself.

It's often not quite clear, however, exactly who is training whom.

Character Information:
Name: Arsène Lupin III
Series (and canon name if different from above): Lupin III
Age: 30
Poke-profession: Thief (posing as a Pokemon Breeder)
Home Town: Celadon City
Current town: Hearthome City

Appearance: One of the first things others tend to notice about Lupin
are his loudly colored suits (typically colored red or green),
followed shortly after by his lengthy sideburns and nearly perpetual
monkey-like grin. He's an average-sized man with a very lanky build
seeming to be taken up mostly by his almost comically long and skinny
legs.

Personality: There are two sides to Lupin. The one he usually displays
while out in public is that of a playful fool. Typically friendly but
more than a smidge ornery, he seems to especially enjoy agitating
straight-laced types. His greatest weakness is beautiful women, and he
flirts with them shamelessly at every opportunity (one might even call
him somewhat of a lecher). Above all he's a man who believes that life
is not something to be taken too seriously, and if you're not having
fun then what's the point of living?

Beneath that exterior, however, lies a calculating genius. Lupin is
always on the lookout for things that he can use to his advantage; a
master manipulator quite capable of making sure people only see what
he wants them to see. For the most part, he's out for himself, and is
very careful about whom he trusts. This isn't to say that he's really
a bad guy, but one would be hard pressed to call him totally good
either.

He steals not for the financial gain but for the challenge, always
seeking greater and greater hurdles to surpass. In this he can get
somewhat cocky; if he's challenged directly he feels he simply can't
turn it down. No matter how much he's at a disadvantage. Suffice to
say, he has a bit of an ego.

Abilities: Due to his true profession and years of training, Lupin has
many abilities valuable in the art of thievery. He is a master of
disguise and changing his voice, as well as adeptly mimicking the
mannerisms of those whose appearance he takes. Along with his trade
comes the ability to deftly escape; he hasn't yet met a lock he
couldn't pick or an air duct he wouldn't crawl through. In short, if
it has to do with sneaking and pilfering, Lupin's an ace at it.

History: Many decades ago in the Kanto region legends began to
circulate of a thief who called himself a gentleman. When the stories
began the incidents all occurred to well-to-do private collectors or
museums in the Celadon City area, and all were announced a full day
beforehand via a note left at the future crime scene. The thief called
himself Arsène Lupin, and there was no denying he was certainly a
different breed of criminal. Lupin didn't steal for any sort of
monetary gain; he stole for the challenge. This was why he warned his
victims ahead of time, so they might prepare as best they were able
and provide the greatest test of his abilities. While the local police
force considered him a nuisance, many citizens found themselves
enthralled by Lupin's antics and waited with anticipation to see how
he'd pull off his next heist. Also impressive was how Lupin integrated
Pokemon into his work; it seemed no matter what the Pokemon's
abilities were that he could find some way to assist him in his
thieving. Rather than thinking of them as just tools as some do,
however, he also treated his Pokemon with respect and affection. This
led to a close bond with the Pokemon he worked with, and all were
incredibly loyal to him as a result. As a side hobby, he even did a
little bit of Pokemon breeding, enjoying the challenge of producing
Pokemon with certain traits that would perform the best out on the
job.

In time, Lupin had a son whom he hoped would carry on his legacy.
Unfortunately, even though he taught him everything he knew and even
though the boy showed great promise, Lupin II proved to not have his
father's self-control. Along with spending too much money on wooing
countless women, he squandered away the rest of the family's fortune
on gambling and thanks to over indulgence became an alcoholic. In the
end he vanished and was never heard from again. Some say he was
murdered by a jealous lover, while others claim to have seen him as a
hobo passed out drunk on various city streets.

Lupin II left behind to his father a son. Lupin was determined not to
make the same mistakes with his grandson, being much stricter with him
and working him much harder. While Lupin III did display many of his
father's flaws, they were outweighed by his impressive strengths. He
soon surpassed his predecessor's skills and indeed vowed to his
grandfather that he would bring honor back to the family's name. Once
the original Arsène Lupin had passed on, Lupin III's training was
complete and he went out into the great wide world to do just that.

Most of Lupin III's youth was spent in Kanto, where he had some
missteps but more and more frequently had successes. In time he
managed to win the hearts of the public just as his grandfather had
with his daring attempts and continued prowess at escaping capture. He
traveled from city to city, seeking the toughest challenges Kanto had
to offer. As the years passed he did get caught once or twice, but no
jail was able to hold him for very long. His luck continued well into
his adulthood, around which time the slightest twinges of boredom
began to set in. By this time he'd been around the region multiple
times, and was starting to think he'd exhausted all the possibilities
it had to offer.

It was around this time that he ran into a sassy young brunette in a
night club while in Fuschia City. He carried his father's weakness for
the fairer sex, and in one conversation the woman had him wrapped
around her little finger. For many months he was distracted from
thieving, following her around like a lovesick puppy and catering to
her various whims. This of course including buying her lots of gifts
and taking her on expensive vacations. Eventually, this also led to
agreeing to move with her to Sinnoh.

For a month or so once they'd moved in to an apartment in Jubilife
City things went on as usual. One morning however, Lupin awoke to a
note from the brunette telling him that she was bored of life with him
and was leaving to fulfill her dream of becoming the wife of a gym
leader. This dream apparently required her to also take all of Lupin's
money with her, as the thief's wallet was also gone. For a few days he
wallowed in self-pity, only leaving the apartment to visit a local bar
now and again. It was gazing into his dull reflection in a bottle
however that finally made Lupin realize the dangerous path he was
heading down. He certainly didn't want to end up like his father -- he
was destined to be the greatest thief in the world! He was in a whole
new region now, with new challenges and new places to explore. What
good was wasting his time in some crummy little hole in the wall bar?

So the next day Lupin set out on the road again, pulling heists along
the way and building himself a reputation in Sinnoh. Having learned a
thing or two about Pokemon breeding from his grandfather, he decided a
perfect cover would be to pose as a breeder when out in public.

Besides, chicks really dig baby Pokemon. Right?
